I think I’ve mentioned that my husband is ill. This could be a long term illness, no one seems to know.
In the meantime, we decided to go through some of our ‘stuff’ to see what we don’t use/need any more and give it away.
So I started with the kitchen. First I looked in one of the little storage cabinets, pulled out the bread maker machine that I haven’t used in years, and a few other things that were in that cabinet.
Then I looked in one of the storage cabinets in the kitchen under the counter. Can’t tell you how much I dragged out of there – that hasn’t seen the light of day in years.
More items, taken out of a top cabinet, etc….
Even hubby got in the act and pulled stuff out of the drawer under the stove and on top of the pantry cabinet.
I’ve tried to convince hubby to get all the canning jars out of the garage – but that’s not going to happen any time soon. We have a canning pressure cooker out there as well – the last time we did any canning was too long ago to remember. And we’ve been living in this house for almost 17 years.
My car is now fully loaded with boxes and boxes of good ‘stuff’, a window fan that we haven’t used for quite awhile – since I have lots of containers in front of the windows in the office.
It’s all going to Goodwill.
And because we can no longer take itemized deductions on our taxes, I don’t have to fill out cards – I can just hope that everything will go to good homes.
